Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 7, 2026
This policy explains what information InsightDock collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the service, and we do not sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in through a third-party provider (Google, GitHub, or Facebook), we receive your name, email address, and profile identifier from that provider. We do not receive or store your password for those services.
Information you provide
The stocks you add, the investment theses and topics you tell us to watch, your alert and email preferences, and any support messages you send us.
Usage information
Basic technical and interaction data such as pages viewed, features used, searches run, device and browser type, and IP address, collected to operate, secure, and improve the service.
We do not access your brokerage accounts, holdings balances, or trading activity. A “watchlist” or “thesis” in InsightDock is information you type in, not a connection to any broker.
2. How we use information
- to provide the service — generating alerts, digests, and analysis for the stocks and theses you follow;
- to send you the emails and notifications you have configured;
- to operate, secure, debug, and improve the service, including preventing abuse;
- to process payments for paid tiers; and
- to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, to run InsightDock:
- Identity providers (Google, GitHub, Facebook) — for sign-in;
- Payment processor (Stripe) — to handle subscriptions; we do not store full card details;
- Email delivery (Resend) — to send your alerts and digests;
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that run our servers.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a business transfer.
4. Cookies and sessions
We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use them for third-party advertising.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access, correct, or delete your account information from your settings, or by contacting us.
- Adjust or turn off email and alert notifications at any time in your settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, port, or erase your data, or to object to certain processing. We honor valid requests as required by applicable law.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard the data we hold and to limit access to it.
8. Children
InsightDock is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, communicated to you.
