About InsightDock
What this is
InsightDock is an investment thesis tracker for buy-and-hold investors. You tell it which stocks you hold and why; it watches financial news continuously and alerts you only when a development materially supports or challenges that thesis. The goal is a quieter relationship with the market: most days, no alert is the product working.
InsightDock launched in 2025 as MarketFlux and was renamed InsightDock in July 2026. Same product, same team; the old domain (getmarketflux.com) permanently redirects here.
How the pipeline works
Under the hood, InsightDock aggregates news from 18+ financial sources in real time — tens of thousands of articles a day. Each article passes through a sentiment model (FinBERT, a language model trained on financial text) and LLM-based event detection, then gets scored against each user's per-stock themes. Alerts fire on material thesis-relevant developments; everything else is summarized in a daily digest.
The same pipeline powers our free options analytics dashboards — max pain, open interest, call/put walls, and gamma exposure for 25 widely held stocks, recomputed from the full options chain every trading day.
What we deliberately don't do
- No advice. InsightDock describes what happened and how it relates to the thesis you wrote — it never tells you to buy or sell.
- No engagement farming. The product is designed to interrupt you as rarely as possible. Alert volume is a cost we minimize, not a metric we maximize.
- No black boxes where it matters. Where our analytics involve convention or uncertainty (max pain on a flat pain curve, sentiment on ambiguous news), we label it on the page rather than printing false confidence.
Who builds it
InsightDock is built by Samarth Batra. It started as a personal tool for tracking a buy-and-hold portfolio without reading financial news all day, and grew into the platform it is now.
